Improve What Your Home Needs Most.

Substantial Improvements Without a Full Renovation.

Not every construction project requires remodeling the entire home. Sometimes the right project is replacing an aging plumbing system, modernizing the electrical system, upgrading the main service panel, replacing HVAC equipment or improving a specific part of the interior.

Accelerate Construction handles substantial home improvements as carefully planned construction projects—with direct supervision, proper coordination and attention to the work that will eventually be covered up as well as the finishes you see.

Not Every Project Is a Full Renovation

The Right Scope for the Work Your Home Needs.

A house can need significant construction work without needing a complete renovation.

An older plumbing system may need to be replaced. The electrical system may need modernization. The main service panel may no longer meet the needs of the home. Heating and cooling equipment may need replacement. Flooring or other interior finishes may need substantial updating.

These projects deserve the same planning and workmanship as larger renovations, even when the work is focused on one system or one part of the home.

The size of the renovation doesn’t determine the importance of doing the work properly.

Major Systems

Replacing the Systems the Home Runs On.

Some of the most important construction work in a home is the work nobody sees. When the plumbing, the wiring or the electrical service has reached the end of its useful life, replacing it is a project in its own right.

Re-Piping.

Replacing an Aging Plumbing System

Re-piping is much more than replacing visible plumbing fixtures. It involves replacing aging water-supply piping throughout the areas included in the project and coordinating access through walls and ceilings so the new system can be installed properly.

Once the plumbing work is completed and tested, the areas opened for access can be restored as part of the construction process.

Planning & Access

Determine how the existing piping is routed and where access will be required.

New Water-Supply Piping

Replace the applicable existing supply lines with the specified new piping system.

Testing

Verify the system before walls and ceilings are closed.

Restoration

Coordinate drywall and finish restoration after the plumbing work is complete.

Re-Wiring & Electrical Modernization.

Updating the Electrical System Behind the Walls

Older homes may have electrical systems that were designed for a very different level of electrical use than today’s homes. A substantial electrical upgrade can involve much more than replacing outlets and switches.

Depending on the existing system and project scope, the work may involve new wiring, circuits, outlets, switches, lighting and other electrical components throughout substantial portions of the home.

Existing-System Review

Review the existing electrical conditions relevant to the proposed work.

Wiring & Circuits

Coordinate required wiring and circuits for the areas included in the project.

Outlets, Switches & Lighting

Plan their locations as part of the overall electrical work rather than treating them as isolated changes.

Inspection & Close-Up

Complete applicable inspection steps before concealed work is covered.

Main Electrical Service & Panel Upgrades.

Preparing the Electrical System for the Home’s Needs

The electrical panel is the distribution point for the home’s electrical system. When an existing service or panel needs to be replaced or upgraded, the work needs to be coordinated with the home’s electrical system, applicable utility requirements and required permits and inspections.

Depending on the scope, the work can include:

  • Main service / panel replacement or upgrade
  • New breakers and circuit coordination
  • Grounding
  • Surge protection where included
  • Coordination associated with electrical-system upgrades
  • Required permitting and inspection
System Improvements

Plumbing, Electrical and Heating & Cooling.

Plumbing Improvements.

Not every substantial plumbing project requires a whole-house re-pipe. Plumbing work can also be part of upgrading specific areas of the home, relocating fixtures or replacing portions of an aging system.

  • Significant supply-line modifications
  • Drain and waste modifications
  • Fixture relocations associated with construction
  • Plumbing for remodeled areas
  • Water-heater-related construction coordination where applicable
  • Replacement of substantial sections of existing plumbing

Electrical Improvements.

Electrical improvements can range from adding the circuits needed for new equipment to upgrading lighting and electrical distribution throughout substantial areas of the home.

  • New circuits
  • Recessed lighting
  • Lighting changes
  • Outlets and switches
  • Dedicated circuits where required
  • Electrical work associated with other substantial improvements

Heating & Cooling.

HVAC Replacement and System Improvements

Heating and cooling equipment is another major home system that may need to be replaced or upgraded independently of a larger renovation.

Depending on the home and project, the work may involve central heating and cooling equipment, furnaces, condensers, coils, duct modifications, thermostats or mini-split systems.

Where the installation affects other parts of the home, we coordinate the HVAC work with the related electrical, framing, drywall and finish restoration.

Interior Work

Flooring.

A New Surface Starts With What’s Underneath It

Replacing flooring across substantial areas of a home is not only about selecting the finish material. Existing floor conditions, transitions between rooms, substrate preparation and finished elevations all affect the result.

  • Engineered wood
  • Tile
  • Other appropriate finish flooring
Drywall & Interior Finish Restoration

Opening the Home—and Putting It Back Together.

Major plumbing and electrical work often requires access through existing walls or ceilings. Completing the system upgrade is only part of the job. The home also needs to be put back together properly.

Accelerate Construction can coordinate the access, drywall repair or replacement, surface preparation and related finish restoration so the project does not end when the work behind the walls is complete.

The project isn’t finished just because the new pipe or wire is in the wall.

One Contractor, Several Trades

When One Improvement Involves Several Trades.

A project that sounds like one trade often involves several.

A re-pipe can require plumbing, drywall and painting. An electrical service upgrade may involve electrical work, utility coordination and restoration. HVAC work can affect electrical, framing, ceilings or finishes.

As a general contractor, Accelerate Construction can coordinate the different parts of the project rather than leaving the homeowner to manage each trade separately.

Existing Los Angeles Homes

Experience Matters in an Existing Home.

Home-improvement work often means connecting new construction to an existing house. Years of working on Los Angeles homes help us understand how different generations of homes were built and what is likely to be encountered when existing systems and finishes are opened.

That experience helps us plan the work realistically, coordinate the different trades and determine how the completed improvement will reconnect to the existing home.

Approvals

Permits & Inspections.

Many substantial plumbing, electrical, HVAC and other home-improvement projects require permits and inspections. The requirements depend on the work being performed and the property.

Accelerate Construction coordinates required permitting related to our construction scope, schedules applicable inspections and works through the inspection process as construction progresses.

Our Standard at Completion

The work isn’t finished simply because it’s completed. It needs to be completed properly and to a level of workmanship we’re comfortable putting the Accelerate Construction name on.

Improve What Your Home Needs Most.

A home doesn’t always need a complete renovation to benefit from substantial improvement. Sometimes the right project is replacing an aging system, modernizing part of the house or completing one significant improvement properly from beginning to end.

Accelerate Construction brings the same planning, coordination and personal supervision to these projects that we bring to larger renovations.
